Working as a real estate agent is a lonely business. Yes, you have colleagues and fellow agents, but the reality is that those colleagues are also your greatest competitors. You have your clients, but you have to always be that professional calm and collected self with your buyers and sellers, and often be the person to keep them positive and moving forward. And you have a sales manager, or a broker, but – and I speak from experience here – that person has many agents to oversee, many fires to put out, and often way more issues to deal with every day than there is time available.
And, even though your day is filled with interacting with clients, attorneys, lenders, other agents, and your clients, the job is an isolating one and you don’t really have someone with whom to bounce off your ideas, vent, and share your successes.
Frankly, hiring a coach can relieve some of this loneliness. Your coach’s job is to partner with you, to help you work through business challenges, to be on your side and listen to your successes – and frustrations – and to work alongside you in building your business. My agents often report that working with me as their coach, eliminates a great deal of the isolation that is inherent with the job.
